Women and social media
Social media and women have a complicated and changing connection. On the one hand, social media gives women a forum to interact with others, share their stories, and draw attention to problems that concern them. On the other hand, harassment, misogyny, and violence against women can all occur on social media. The ability to create communities and support networks is one of social media's benefits for women. Women can connect with individuals who have had similar experiences, such as sexual assault survivors, women working in fields where men predominate, or mothers juggling the demands of raising children.
